BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Alliance, the neighborhood's grassroots organization, will hold its next general meeting Jan. 28.

Starting at 7 p.m. at the First Trinity Community Center, 643 W. 31st St., the meeting will address a campaign to publicize the 31st Street Bus.

The Chicago Transit Authority in November approved a “pilot” return of the No. 31 bus route in the spring.

Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th), then asked the transit authority for a feasibility study of the bus corridor between Ashland and the city’s Museum Campus to measure ridership.

If the CTA approves the request, the study could start by 2016.

The CTA eliminated the 31st Street route in 1997 because of low ridership, prompting activists to fight for its reinstatement.
