CHICAGO — Here are some of the 911 tapes and scanner audio recorded before, during and after the Jan. 7, 2013 incident in which police shot and killed 17-year-old Cedrick Chatman.

Police arrived at the scene following reports of a carjacking.

Around 1:30 p.m. that day, Cedrick and two men — Akeem Clarke, 22, and Martel Odom, 23 — climbed into a man's silver Dodge Charger to buy cellphone service from him, prosecutors related days later.

Here's the audio from the victim describing what happened to 911 dispatch over the course of three separate calls:

Police arrived at the scene, arresting Clarke and Odom and shooting Chatman, who would die hours later.

The scanner audio doesn't offer too many details about the actual shooting, but does acknowledge an officer-involved shooting in which no one was hurt and an "offender" was shot.
