At Brew U in Pilsen, Brewers From Lagunitas, Goose Island Are the Teachers

PILSEN — Brushing up on your beer knowledge, brew masters?

Brew U, a four-week beer education series at Dusek's Board and Beer, 1227 W. 18th St. in Pilsen, brings together brewers from across the city to share their craft this month.

The classes, which include beer tastings, kick off Jan. 18 and $99 tickets to the series are still for sale online. Participating breweries include Pilsen's Own Moody Tongue Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co. in North Lawndale, Goose Island on the Near West Side and Off Color Brewing in Logan Square.

The schedule:

• Jan. 13: Off Color Brewing: History of Brewing 

• Jan. 20: Lagunitas Brewing: Hopology

• Jan. 27: Goose Island: Barrel Aging

• Feb. 3: Moody Tongue: Pairing Beer with Food

Dusek's opened in historic Thalia Hall in September 2013.
