CHICAGO — A 16-year-old has died after being shot in Woodlawn, authorities said.
The teen told police he was in a car in the 6300 block of South Stony Island Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Saturday, when another car pulled alongside him and someone inside shot at him, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The teenager was hit in his head and shoulder and was taken in critical condition to the University of Chicago Hospital, Estrada said. He later died.
The teen, identified as Antwan McBee, of the 4800 block of South Prairie Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:17 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
