ASHBURN — Chicago rapper King Louie was shot in his head at 83rd and Pulaski Wednesday, according to media reports Wednesday evening.
A 27-year-old man was sitting in a parked car on the 8300 block of South Pulaski Road around 3:30 p.m. when someone shot him in his head, Officer Thomas Sweeney, Chicago Police spokesman said. Based on chatter overheard on police scanners, some on social media began to speculate that the victim was Louis Johnson Jr., AKA King Louie, a prominent part of Chicago's drill music scene.
The Sun-Times was first to confirm that King Louie had been shot and was "awake and talking." Later the hip hop blog Fake Shore Drive wrote that his manager Big Homie Doe had confirmed that King Louie was "doing OK."

He was listed in "stable" condition at Christ Medical Center, Sweeney said, though police could not say the extent of his injuries.
