CHICAGO — Mayor Rahm Emanuel didn't want to be a part of this list.

He made GQ's list of "The Worst People of 2015."

Joined by the likes of anti-gay-marriage advocate Kim Davis, Hillary Clinton and Bill Cosby, Emanuel came in at 26th out of 28 in the magazine's look at the year's "least influential people."

And what was the magazine's reason for Emanuel's inclusion? No, it wasn't his decision to push through a record $600 million property tax hike. Mostly, it was his handling of the Laquan McDonald case.

"Well, I think we're all shocked that a bloodless, profane political operative turned mayor would permit the suppression of a video depicting a horrific police shooting during the exact period when he was desperately trying to get re-elected. JUST SHOCKING, I TELL YOU."

Emanuel has apologized for his handling of the Laquan dashcam footage release. Originally, Emanuel's City Hall fought to keep the footage showing Laquan being fatally shot while walking away from officers.

But when a judge ordered the video to be released, Emanuel relented, saying his administration would not appeal the decision. He said the video's release would allow the city to "build bridges" toward repairing the police's standing in some communities.

The video's release, and the reaction to Emanuel's handling of it, has led to widespread protests throughout Chicago. Many protesters have been explicit in calling for Emanuel's ouster.

He even lost the faith and trust of Cubs mascot Ronnie Woo Woo.

Emanuel has said he wouldn't consider leaving his post.

Though it's a nightmarish end to 2015 for Emanuel, the embattled mayor will at least get to enjoy the holidays with his family in Cuba. Except even the announcement of that trip brought negative headlines for the mayor.

Emanuel's press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
