WOODLAWN — A 17-year-old died after being shot multiple times in Woodlawn Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., the teen was walking in the 500 block of East Marquette Road when two men emerged from an alley and shot at him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He has been identified as Brandon McKnight, of the 6600 block of South Marquette Road in Greater Grand Crossing, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

McKnight was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said. He was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
