LITTLE VILLAGE — A 37-year-old man was in critical condition after someone broke into his Little Village home and shot him Wednesday night, police said.

Just after 10 p.m., someone broke into the man's home in the 2200 block of South Avers Avenue and shot him in the face and abdomen, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Estrada said.

Another man was struck in the face with a pistol, Estrada said.

Police said they believe the incident was drug-related.
