• Most recently, a 43-year-old man was shot in Austin. At 9:40 p.m., the man was sitting in a parked car in the 5000 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone walked up and fired, hitting the man in his neck and shoulder, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. The victim is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 7:08 p.m., two men were shot in Washington Park. The men were walking in the 6100 block of South King Drive when they heard gunshots and realized they'd been wounded, Sedevic said. They saw two men, who are possibly the shooters, running down an alley, Sedevic said.

A 22-year-old man was shot in his left side and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, while a 21-year-old man was shot in his back and leg and taken in "stable" condition to Stroger Hospital, Sedevic said.

He was shot in his upper back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition. Three men who may have been the shooters were seen running away, Sedevic said.

The shooting appears to be gang-related, police said.
