HYDE PARK — A proposed hotel for 53rd Street is getting another round of community input at a Tuesday meeting.

Developers for the seven-story hotel project planned for 1401 E. 53rd St. will give an overview of the project at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Hyatt Place, 5225 S. Harper Ave.

Construction on 90 rooms of the $20 million hotel is expected to begin in the spring.

Smart Hotels and Olympia Companies, which also developed the Hyatt Place in Hyde Park, have faced questions from the community at past meetings about whether a proposed 17 parking spaces will be enough.

The project is also expected to include a restaurant on a site that is currently a University of Chicago-owned parking lot.
