CHICAGO — Two men were wounded, one critically, in shootings in Little Village since Thursday, according to police.

Most recently, a 27-year-old man was shot, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man was in the back seat of a van in the 3300 block of South Pulaski Road at 2:40 a.m. when someone in a passing white SUV opened fire, Estrada said.

He was struck in his abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said. The man is a documented gang member, police said.

Just after 11 a.m. Thursday, a 20-year-old man was wounded in a Little Village shooting, Estrada said. He was on the sidewalk in the 2700 block of South Lawndale Avenue when a man walked up and fired shots, Estrada said.

The man was struck multiple times and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said.
