CHICAGO — A 64-year-old man has died after being shot in Gage Park Friday night, police said.

The man, identified as Jose Arreola, was in the 5100 block of South Troy Street at 7:10 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Arreola was shot a block from his home in the 5100 block of South Albany Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was struck multiple times in the body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m., according to Pacheco and the medical examiner.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
