BRIDGEPORT — For the first time in more than a decade, there will be a Christmas tree lighting in the 11th Ward.

Actually there will be three chances to attend a lighting, complete with hot chocolate, caroling, a visit from Santa — and live reindeer available for pictures with the kids.

Sponsored by the South Loop Chamber of Commerce and Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th), the holiday events are scheduled 6 p.m. at three 11th Ward locations.

Here’s a look at when and where you can catch a lighting:

Wednesday

Bake For Me, 4305 S. Halsted St.

Thursday

Richard J. Daley Library, 3400 S. Halsted St.

Dec. 10

UIC’s Forum Plaza, 725 W. Roosevelt Road
