Late Night Andersonville Encourages You To Shop Local -- and Save

ANDERSONVILLE — More than 40 Andersonville stores will stay open late Friday for a holiday celebration featuring live music, great deals, gift making classes, treats, cocktails and, of course, a visit from Santa.

From 6-10 p.m. Friday, residents are invited to support local businesses for the 13th Annual Late Night Andersonville celebration including deals on holiday gifts, late night events and carols from Lakeside Pride Ensemble and Edgewater Singers, according to the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.

The schedule:

• From 6-10 p.m. at Vignette Vignette, 5407 N. Clark St.: Gift-making open house, which includes painting holiday cards, decorating ceramic stoneware plates, cups, vases, beads and seasonal directions. Walk in, pick a project and create with the staff.

• From 6-8 p.m. at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St.: Head to the museum for free photos with Santa.

• From 6-10 p.m. at Andersonville Galleria, 5247 N. Clark St.: The Galleria will host a tasting of Terry's Toffee.

• From 6-11 p.m. at Brimfield, 5219 N. Clark St.: Enjoy holiday cocktails and live music at the local home decor shop.

• From 7-9 p.m. at Marguerite Gardens, 5059 N. Clark St.: Head to the flower shop for live music.

• At 7:30 p.m. at Women & Children First, at 5233 N. Clark St.: Enjoy a reading from author Elynne Chaplick Aleskow as she goes into details from her book "My Gift of Now: A Short Collection of Memoirs."
