ALBANY PARK — A 22-year-old man left in critical condition after being shot across the street from the Kimball CTA Brown Line station Monday evening died Tuesday night, according to county records.

Around 5:30 p.m., the man was standing in the 4700 block of North Kimball Avenue when someone walked out of a nearby alley and shot at him seven times, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man, who police initially reported as 20 years old, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his head, right arm and right thigh, Estrada said.

He was later identified as Gabriel Claudio, of unknown home address, and was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday at 6:43 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office records.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
