CHICAGO — A 59-year-old man was killed and a 34-year-old man was wounded in an Englewood drive-by shooting early Wednesday, according to police.

The two men were getting into a van in the 5700 block of South Morgan Street at 2:35 a.m. when someone in a passing beige car opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Kenneth Noble, 59, of the 11000 block of South Wentworth Avenue, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene at 2:56 a.m., according to county records.

The 34-year-old man was struck in his left shoulder and was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said. Police could not say the extent of his injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Estrada said.
