CHICAGO — Two teenage boys were injured in an Englewood shooting Tuesday night, according to police.

The boys were outside in the 7400 block of South Sangamon Street around 9:10 p.m. when a shooter emerged from a nearby gangway and opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The 15-year-old boy was struck in his right ankle and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

The 16-year-old boy was struck in his right cheek and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

The 16-year-old is a documented gang member, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Estrada said.
