CHICAGO — Police have launched a death investigation after they found a 23-year-old woman unresponsive inside a Chicago Lawn residence Friday, the Chicago Police Department said.

The incident was originally reported as a homicide, but police have reclassified it as a death investigation, Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman, confirmed Monday.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 6300 block of South Fairfield Avenue around 12:05 p.m. Friday when they found the woman unresponsive on a couch, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, Lemmon said. She was pronounced dead at 1:51 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The woman has been identified as Quina Jackson, who lived in the same block where she died, according to the medical examiner.

Police arrested a 34-year-old woman after the domestic disturbance, but she has been released and has not been charged for any wrongdoing, Estrada said.
