CHICAGO — Five people were injured in shootings on the South and West sides since Wednesday, according to police.

• Most recently, a 25-year-old man was shot in South Shore overnight Thursday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in the 7000 block of South Crandon Avenue at 2:25 a.m. when two men approached and one opened fire, Sedevic said.

The man was shot in the face, Sedevic said. He brought himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital before being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

• A 21-year-old man was wounded in an Englewood shooting early Thursday, Sedevic said. The man was walking in the 5700 block of South Peoria Avenue at 1:25 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, Sedevic said. He was struck in the leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, she said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• A 24-year-old man was shot in South Austin Wednesday afternoon, Sedevic said. He was walking in the 5700 block of West Augusta Boulevard at 2:55 p.m. when shots rang out, Sedevic said.

The man was shot in the leg and managed to get himself to West Suburban Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said. The man is being uncooperative with police, she said.

• A 26-year-old woman was shot in Brighton Park Wednesday, Sedevic said. The woman was a passenger in a parked car in the 2800 block of West 39th Place at 2:35 p.m. when someone walked up to the car and opened fire, Sedevic said.

She was struck in the left arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said. The woman is a documented gang member and a convicted felon, police said.

• A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a West Garfield Park shooting Wednesday afternoon, Sedevic said. The man was in the first block of North Keeler Avenue at 12:50 p.m. when someone opened fire, hitting the man in the leg and back, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Sedevic said. The man is a documented gang member, police said.

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
