WEST PULLMAN — A 17-year-old and a 13-year-old girl were in good condition after being shot in the Far South Side early Tuesday, police said.

Around 9:05 a.m., the teens were standing with some acquaintances near an alley in the 11700 block of South Perry Avenue when someone shot at them from a passing black van, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 17-year-old was shot in his buttocks and the girl was shot in her leg, Sedevic said. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where they were listed in good condition.

Police said they believe the shooting was gang-related.

No one is in custody, police said.
