ENGLEWOOD — A 38-year-old man died from a gunshot wound in his shoulder Tuesday night, police said.

Around 11:55 p.m., the man was standing in the 1200 block of West 73rd Place when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Sedevic said.

Medical examiners identified the man as Noel Burrell, of the 1300 block of West 73rd Place.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
