IRVING PARK — A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded while driving in Irving Park early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 3:50 a.m., the boy was driving in the 4100 block of North Drake Avenue when another car pulled up alongside and someone inside fired shots, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where his condition was "stable" after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his back and shoulder, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
