WEST LOOP — A developer wants to build a 38-story residential tower next to K2 Apartments in the Fulton River District in the West Loop.

The proposal is to build the tower at 346-358 N. Union Ave. and 347-357 N. Halsted St., which is adjacent to the Kennedy Expy.

The vacant site, located near the new dog park at K2 Apartments, would house 373 units and 158 parking spaces.

Representatives for the Chicago Self Storage II LLC development team will pitch their proposal to the community at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Old St. Pat's Church, 700 W. Adams St. The meeting is hosted by Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) and Neighbors of West Loop.

Residents will be able to ask questions about the project at the meeting.

The developer needs a zoning change to move forward. Chicago Self Storage II LLC is operated by a California firm named Gray Cardiff, according to state records.

Free parking for those attending the meeting will be available in the parking lot on the southeast corner of West Adams and North Desplaines streets.

K2 Apartments is 34 stories tall.
