CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was fatally wounded in a Little Village shooting early Sunday, according to police.
The man was walking in the 4100 block of West 31st Street around 8:35 a.m. when a man with a gun opened fire before fleeing in a red SUV, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
He was shot in the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition before he died, Pacheco said.
The man is a documented gang member and convicted felon, police said. No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing.
