CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded in Douglas early Saturday, police said.
At 12:15 a.m., the boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of South State Street when someone from a silver SUV fired at him, hitting him in both legs, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said. Police could not say the extent of his injuries.
The boy is a self-admitted gang member, police said.
