ROGERS PARK — The witching season is upon Rogers Park, and there's plenty to do to get amped up before Halloween hits on Saturday.

From a "Rocky Horror" dance party, to a pet cosplay costume contest, to free horror movies and more — the city's most northern community is the place to be this Halloween.

Check out our roundup of events below, and start planning out your ultimate Halloween night now:

Senior Dance: This year, 24th District CAPS is holding a dance for senior citizens at the Broadway Armory, 5917 North Broadway, on Friday Oct. 30 between 12:30-2 p.m. Costumes aren't required for the $2 per senior dance (but are encouraged) and DJ Norm will be on hand to play classic dance tunes. Like all good parties, light refreshments will be served. RSVP by calling 312-742-5323.

Loyola Park Halloween Party: On Friday, the Halloween party continues from 4-5:30 p.m. at Loyola Park, 1230 W. Greenleaf Ave. Games, treats, costumes and plenty of spook-tacular fun await the family at this favorite annual festival.

Free Horror Classics At New 400: All week, the New 400 Theater in Rogers Park is playing free horror movies at 9:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis. The marathon culminates with a showing of the quintessential Halloween movie appropriately titled, "Halloween."

Trick-Or-Treating: Starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, trick-or-treaters can go door-to-door snatching up candy until 7 p.m. when the werewolves come out.

Halloween Gala And Pet Cosplay Costume Party And Crawl: Halloween night at the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce, 7231 N. Sheridan Road, will feature a cosplay costume contest for humans, pets and everything in between starting at 4 p.m. for pets, and 6 p.m. for people. Mask-making, music by DJ AA and other fun surprises are all part of the evening's festivities. At 9 p.m., the Chamber party will head out into the neighborhood, hitting up Halloween parties at local haunts like R Public House and Hard Water Bar and Grill.

Things Get Freaky At Mayne Stage: Starting at 11 p.m. on Halloween, the Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave., will proudly let its freak flag fly with a musical revue of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The evening will be serving up Halloween-themed cocktails and provide an open dance floor for monsters to mash. Wear your best "Rocky Horror" attire, they'll be a costume contest. Tickets are $12.
