CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was shot in the Near West Side late Sunday, according to police.

The man was on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of West Adams Street around 11:40 p.m. when shots rang out from a passing silver car, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his face, chest and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, she said.

The man is an admitted gang member, according to police.

No arrests have been made.
