Chicago Police in Morgan Park to Accept Donations for 1 City, 1 Food Drive

MORGAN PARK — Chicago Police in the Morgan Park District will collect donations for the Greater Chicago Food Depository's 1 City, 1 Food Drive campaign.

Donations can be dropped off from Nov. 13-Dec. 14 at the police department at 1900 W. Monterey Ave. in Morgan Park.

The most needed items include:canned beans, canned chili, soup, stew, canned fruit, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables and tuna.

The 1 City, 1 Food Drive campaign is the largest annual food drive for the depository. The goal of is to call every Chicagoan to join in the fight against hunger by donating one bag of food, one hour of their time or $1.

Through a combined effort of more than 500 community food drives and 10-15 larger strategic food drive partners and events, the goal this year is to collect 1.5 million meals.
