CHICAGO — A 27-year-old tourist was wounded in an armed robbery along the lakefront bike path near Oak Street Beach Saturday night, according to police.

The man and a woman were robbed at knifepoint by three men in the 1100 block of North Lake Shore Drive at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was stabbed in the back during a struggle, Sedevic said, after he and the woman were robbed by the men. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in "stable" condition, Sedevic said. Police did not say the extent of his injuries.

The robbers made off with the man's wallet and phone, as well as the woman's credit cards, Sedevic said. The woman, whose age was not immediately known, was not injured, Sedevic said.

Police arrested an 18-year-old in connection with the armed robbery, and charges are pending, Sedevic said.
