CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was killed in a West Garfield Park shooting early Sunday, according to police.

The man was found in his car in the 4500 block of West Adams Street around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The deceased man has been identified as Perry Burrell, of the 2300 block of North Avers Avenue in Hermosa, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The man was shot in his head, apparently while driving, Sedevic said. His car hit a tree before coming to a stop. He was pronounced dead on the scene, Sedevic said.

No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing, Sedevic said.
