Channel your inner Don, Peggy, Pete or Joan at Ampersand's "Mad Men"-themed "Hallowine" party, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Oct. 31, 4845 N. Damen Ave. Tickets are $45 per person and available for purchase online. Admission includes wine, beer and snacks. Cocktails — an absolute necessity for Roger Sterling imposters — are available at additional cost.
Artango Bistro is going retro too, with "Buenos Aires 1950," Oct. 30 and 31, 4217 N. Ravenswood Ave. Guests are encouraged to don vintage attire for the three-course prix fixe dinner, featuring dishes recreated from the recipes of Doña Petrona, Argentina's answer to Julia Child. Cost is $49 person and reservations are required.
Boozy
Halloween falls on a weekend this year, and you know what that means — bar specials.
Pitchfork Food & Saloon, 2922 W. Irving Park Road., will be pouring $2 Blood Lights (Bud Lights) and $3 Fireball shots, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 31. Stick around for a costume contest, DJ and $5 pumpkin pie shots.
Get "Hallowasted" at Black Rock Pub & Kitchen, 3614 N. Damen Ave., 8 p.m., Oct. 31. Twenty-five bucks will get you deals on drafts and cocktails. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes.
Kooky
The Ghost Trakkers parody comedy troupe will screen the pilot episode of its possible television series, also called "Ghost Trakkers," 10 p.m. Saturday at Bughouse Theater, 1910 W. Irving Park Rd. Cost is $10.
The Red Lion is hosting an All Hallows Eve Seance, 8 p.m., Oct. 31, 4749 N. Rockwell St. Connect with the spirit world, have your tarot cards read or just partake in food and drink. Tarot readings are $10-$20.
Old School
Adults like haunted houses, too. St. Ben's Fright Walk is open Friday through Sunday, and Thursday and Oct. 30. Admission is $8. 2215 W. Irving Park Rd.
