AUSTIN — Police said they discovered a 15-year-old boy who had been fatally shot in Austin Friday afternoon.

Around 12:45 p.m., police found the boy lying in the backyard of a house in the 4900 block of West Congress Parkway, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. He had been shot multiple times in his leg and torso, she said.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Sedevic said.

Police said they believe the shooting was drug-related.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
