CHICAGO —   TGIF! There are plenty of reasons to get outside and enjoy life in the city even if it means packing a sweater and swapping flip flops for boots.

Join an Artsy Parade, Sample Fall Beers:  Over 30 shops, bars and restaurants along Chicago Avenue are banding together for the 5th annual West Town Art Walk, which will feature a family-friendly "Art That Walks" event where attendees can make their own masks and costumes and then parade down the street. A full lineup, including where to get complimentary tastes of fall beers from Tenth & Blake and Forbidden Root and a list of sales and shop promotions is available on the art walk's website. Admission is free. The walk takes place along Chicago Avenue between Milwaukee and Western.  Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 8 p.m.

Fall In Love With One Last Oktoberfest: Now that it's actually October, enjoy one last round of stuffing your face with meats, beers and song. East Lake View Neighbors will host their 17th annual Oktoberfest at Murphy's Bleachers. Tickets to the Sunday event include the pig roast, booze and veggies, and proceeds benefit local nonprofit causes. Over $20,000 of items will be part of a silent auction, and past prizes have included boat cruises, rooftop baseball game passes and concert tickets. 3:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Murphy's Bleachers, 3655 N. Sheffield Ave. $25 tickets before Sunday, $30 at the door.

Score Fresh Veggies, Crepes at Sunday Farmers Market:   From squash and gourds to sweet potatoes, the market's array of produce now includes fall favorites too. Score fresh veggies, meats, eggs, pastries, pasta, fruit, jam, coffee from Half-Wit Roasters, and fresh crepes made onsite at the weekly Wicker Park Farmers Market, every Sunday in the park through October 25. See the full vendor list.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the park, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Get a Taste of Elusive Northman Cider, Eat Too Many Honeycrisp Apples: For hardcore fall fans, there is one rock star apple, and that's the honeycrisp. At Apple Fest, you can enjoy your fill of the wildly popular apple, plus its less beloved peers, in addition to pies, cider, arts and crafts, music and kids' activities. There'll even be an appearance by the folks at Northman, who will pour hard cider. Read more here. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday. 4700 block of N. Lincoln Ave.

Enjoy the Fusion of Coffee, Beer and Art: Horse Thief Hollow Brewing Co. will debut its Hollow Grounds Oatmeal Stout, using coffee from the former Hardboiled Coffee (now branded as Hollow Gorunds) at the Beverly Art Walk.
