10-Year-Old Girl Among 3 Shot in Woodlawn, Police Say

WOODLAWN — A 19-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were wounded in a shooting in Woodlawn Sunday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred around 12:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 66th Place, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was shot in his chest and brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Zala said.

The woman was also brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her condition stabilized after she was treated for a gunshot wound in her right calf, Zala said.

The girl, Zala said, was in good condition at Comer Children's Hospital with a graze wound in her neck.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.
