By Alex Nitkin | September 27, 2015 8:47am | Updated on September 28, 2015 8:55am

PILSEN — One man was killed and another critically wounded after being shot in Pilsen early Sunday, police said.

Around 3:20 a.m., the men were driving in the 1100 block of West 18th Street when someone walked out of an alley and shot at them, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Both men were shot in their heads, Sedevic said.

One of the men, identified by Cook County medical examiners as 23-year-old Abraham Barrera, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Sedevic said. He was later pronounced dead.

The other, 24, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Police said they believe the shooting was gang-related.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
