BRONZEVILLE — A man was charged with murder after shooting his friend to death in Bronzeville Saturday, police said.

Around noon, 34-year-old Marvin Lee got into an argument with an acquaintence, a 25-year-old man, in the 700 block of East 47th Street, according to Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

At some point during the argument, Greer said, Lee pulled out a gun and shot the man three times. The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Lee had originally called the police and reported that the man was trying to break into his home, Greer said. Police later discovered that the two men were acquaintences, and that Lee had shot the other man.

Police arrested Lee Saturday afternoon, according to a Chicago Police news release, and charged him with one count of first-degree murder.
