CHICAGO — A man was injured in a shooting in the South Loop on Friday afternoon, police say.
At 3:50 p.m., an 18-year-old man was standing in the 100 block of East Cullerton Street in the South Loop when someone walked up, fired at him and ran away, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was shot in his buttocks and taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in "stable" condition, Sedevic said. Police could not provide more information about the severity of his wounds.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
