BRONZEVILLE — A 20-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Bronzeville Thursday, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Darian Gunn, of the 2300 block of East 70th Street.

Around 3:35 p.m., Gunn was standing in the 3000 block of South Michigan Avenue when another man walked up and shot at him before getting into a dark sedan and driving off eastbound, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Gunn was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition after being shot in his back and his buttocks, Estrada said. He was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
