Alderman Giving Away Free Chicago Football Classic Tickets in 28th Ward

NEAR WEST SIDE — The 28th Ward alderman is giving away free tickets to the Chicago Football Classic Saturday while supplies last.

Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) is donating tickets to 28th Ward residents interested in attending the football game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Soldier Field. Howard University and Morgan State University will square off at the 18th annual Classic Saturday.

Residents can register for two free tickets online.

The game will also include the Howard University vs. Morgan State's Battle of the Bands competition.

Tickets are for sale online for $17-$45.

The 28th Ward includes parts of Austin, East Garfield, West Garfield, North Lawndale, Little Italy, Little Village, Pilsen, Tri-Taylor, University Village and the West Loop neighborhoods.

Founded in 1997 by a small group of African American businessmen, the non-profit Chicago Football Classic aims to encourage African American youth to achieve their best in school through a scholarship program and showcases the opportunities for Chicago youths at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
