UPTOWN — With Halloween right around the corner, Chicago Costume plans to open a pop-up costume shop in Uptown this week, a manager for the company said.

Chicago Costume Deals and Discounts will be open Saturday, but may open sooner in the former home of BodyFit Athletic Club, 4704 N. Broadway. It will be open until Halloween, said general manager Courtland Hickey.

The shop will focus on "great costumes" at "really great prices" and feature "a rummage section of assorted costume bits." Dog costumes, Christmas trees and Christmas decorations will also be available, Hickey said.

While it's a little early to tell which costume will be the biggest sellers, they'll be sure to stock up on Donald Trump, "Star Wars" and "Minions" costumes, Hickey said.

Chicago Costume was founded in 1976 by Mary Hickey Panayotou, who at the time was "custom designing rental costumes out of her home, and customers began to ask about purchasing accessories, makeup, wigs and full costumes," according to its website.
