CHICAGO — A man was wounded when he was shot while walking in Englewood on Sunday afternoon, police said.

At 1:15 p.m., a 19-year-old man was in the 7200 block of South Wolcott Avenue when he said he crossed an alley and was struck by a bullet, said Officer Janel Sedevic.

The man suffered a graze wound in his left cheek and took himself to Holy Cross Medical Center, where his condition was "stable," Sedevic said.

The man is a documented gang member, police say.
