2 Injured After Man Opens Fire in Bronzeville Restaurant, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 37-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were injured after a man opened fire in a Bronzeville restaurant Friday night, according to police.

The man had been arguing with a female patron of the restaurant in the 4400 block of South Prairie Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Friday when he was asked to leave the building, according to Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

According to Estrada, the man then returned and opened fire, striking two restaurant patrons.

The 37-year-old man was shot in his right leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

The 25-year-old woman was shot in her left leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said.

No arrests have been made, Estrada said.
