HYDE PARK — Two University of Chicago students were robbed at gunpoint early Thursday a block from the headquarters of the university police.

At 12:55 a.m. Thursday, the two students were approached by three people, one with a gun, in the 900 block of East Midway Plaisance, according to university police.

The students' cellphones were taken and the three people then ran west toward Cottage Grove Avenue, where the university police’s headquarters is at 6054 S. Drexel Ave.

Chicago and university police were not immediately able to provide a description of any of the suspects.
