Teen Answers Knock at Door, Shot Dead, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Wednesday morning in Calumet Heights, police said.

Someone shot the teen, identified by Cook County Medical Examiners as Armonni Nelson, after he answered a knock on the door of a home in the 9100 block of South Yates Boulevard around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Nelson was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at the scene, Estrada said.

No arrests have been made, said Estrada.
