Police Warn Albany Park, Jeff Park Residents About 5 Armed Robberies

JEFFERSON PARK — Police warned Wednesday that five armed robberies have targeted residents of Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Irving Park and Albany Park Monday and Tuesday.

Police said they are looking for as many as four men who approach people on the street from behind, display a silver handgun and demand cell phones, wallets and cash.

The incidents happened in the :

• 5100 block of West Winnemac Avenue at 10 p.m. Sept. 14
• 3200 block of North Lockwood Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 14
• 3000 block of West Argyle Street at 4:33 a.m. Sept. 15
• 3000 block of West Wilson Avenue, at 5:10 a.m. Sept. 15
• 3900 block of North Spaulding Avenue at 5:20 a.m. Sept.15

The suspects in the incidents are described as four male Hispanics, between 18 and 25 years old, between 5-feet-7-inches tall and 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing between 130 and 180 pounds. All wore dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, police said.
