UPTOWN — We've all had to fight the urge not to break into a well choreographed group dance performance when Michael Jackson's "Thriller" comes on, but when the infectious hit is played at next month's Uptown Saturday nights you won't want to be left out.

As part of Uptown Saturday Nights, a flash mob will perform its own re-enactment of the "Thriller" video at Buttercup Park from 4-6 p.m. Oct 10. Organizers are looking for volunteer dancers to learn the moves over three Wednesdays beginning Sept. 23. To sign up click here. You must attend two out of the three rehearsals to participate on Oct. 10.

Choreographer Jonathan Mayo will walk volunteers through the moves "to make it a fun and easy process to participate" in. Dancers of all skill levels and ages are invited to participate, but must provide their own zombie costume. A makeup artist will be on hand "to assist with the fine details," organizers said.

The party, which will kick off a month of Halloween themed activities throughout Uptown, was created by Business Partners, the Chamber for Uptown and the Buttercup Advisory Council. Along with the performance, it will feature games, prizes and music, according to the website.

All rehearsals will be held at Ald. Harry Osterman's satellite office, at 1006 W. Argyle St.
