Bonnet-Wearing Woman Robs 3 North Side Banks in 3 Weeks, Police Say

CHICAGO — A bonnet-wearing woman has robbed three banks on the North Side in three weeks, according to police.

The woman, who has not shown a weapon during the robberies, has robbed banks inside grocery stores, presenting a demand note and saying she has a lookout, according to a Chicago Police alert to businesses.

The incidents occurred:

• 3:08 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 4300 block of North Sheridan Road

• 3:57 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 5300 block of North Broadway

• 12:57 p.m. Aug. 5 in the 3500 block of North Broadway

The robber is a black woman who is 30-40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and 150-180 pounds, according to police. She "is always wearing a large bonnet," according to police.
