CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man was killed and two others wounded in Austin late Friday, according to police.

The three men were standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mayfield Avenue around 11:20 p.m. Friday when shots rang out from a passing car, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The 31-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead, Estrada said.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Loyola Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said. A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg, went to West Suburban Hospital and is listed in stable condition, Estrada said.

No arrests have been made. The men are documented gang members, police said.
