CHICAGO — A 60-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in South Shore, according to police.

The man was found dead in the hallway of a South Shore home in the 6800 block of South Merrill Avenue at 9:06 p.m. Wednesday, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. He had been shot in the head, Sedevic said.

Ira Washington, who lived on the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:44 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No arrests have been made, she said. The shooting might have been drug-related, police said.
