CHICAGO — A woman was killed and two people injured during a Friday morning shooting in Austin, police said.

The three people were sitting inside a car at 2:10 a.m. in a parking lot at Lake and Cicero when they got into an argument with people in another car, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. A 20-year-old man in the first car fired at the people in the other car and then fired at an armed security guard, Sedevic said.

The security guard then fired at the car, hitting the occupants: the 20-year-old man, a 25-year-old man and a woman, Sedevic said.

The woman was shot twice in her head and once in her arm, Sedevic said. She was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead, Sedevic said. Police first reported she was 23 years old.

Adriana Reyes, 20, of the 3100 block of West Augusta Boulevard in Humboldt Park, was pronounced dead at 5 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The 20-year-old man was shot in his hand and taken to Mt. Sinai, Sedevic said, while the 25-year-old man was shot in his shoulder and the bullet came out his cheek. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.

No other injuries were reported and charges are pending, Sedevic said.
